Disney World Just Changed How Guests Travel to and From Magic Kingdom
A permanent rerouting of one of the Magic Kingdom Resort area’s most-used roadways has rippled through Walt Disney World Resort‘s bus transportation network. The changes that took effect this week will affect anyone traveling between the Central Florida theme parks and the area’s Deluxe hotels.
The Road Change That Started It All

The transportation update connects directly to the opening of a newly constructed Floridian Way in the Magic Kingdom Resort area last week. The redesigned roadway replaces the intersection at Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way, which was permanently closed in July as construction reshaped the traffic patterns around the original Central Florida Disney park. With the road network now reconfigured, Walt Disney World Resort has made permanent adjustments to the bus routes serving Magic Kingdom area hotels to match.

Disney cast members confirmed to WDWNT that the route consolidations are permanent — not a temporary workaround — and are designed to make Magic Kingdom area hotel transportation more efficient under the new layout. The outlet documented the changes from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the new stop assignments are now in place. The same updated routes are also in effect at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
What’s Different at the Bus Stops

The most notable change is the merging of routes that previously ran separately. Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort now share a single bus stop at Gate 4 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Buses departing from Hollywood Studios make a stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort before continuing to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as the final destination.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge have also been combined onto a single shared stop, now located at Gate 8 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the only Magic Kingdom area Deluxe hotel retaining its own dedicated bus service from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, currently operating from Gate 6.
The previous arrangement had paired Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on a shared bus, with Disney’s Contemporary Resort frequently combined with Disney’s Wilderness Lodge — essentially the opposite of the new configuration.
