The Muppets Have Officially Lost Their Home at Hollywood Studios
For years, Muppet*Vision 3D wasn’t just another attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios—it was a time capsule. It was one of those rare corners of the park that seemed to resist change, keeping a little bit of Jim Henson’s magic alive. But as of now, that era is coming to a close. The beloved marquee that once welcomed guests into the theater has been completely removed, leaving longtime fans with more than just an empty façade—they’re left with memories.

A Cornerstone Disappears
The slow dismantling of the attraction was hard to miss. First, the Lightning Lane and standby signs came down. Then the marquee was hidden under black tarp, a telltale sign that change was coming. Within days, construction crews had taken it down entirely. The building that once overflowed with personality now sits bare and quiet, a shell of what it once represented.

For many fans, walking under that marquee was part of their family tradition. It was where parents introduced their kids to Kermit and Miss Piggy. It was a familiar, comfortable stop—a guaranteed laugh and a moment to cool off. Seeing it gone feels like losing a little piece of the park’s soul.
Pixar Steps In
Disney isn’t leaving the space empty for long. The area is being reimagined as Monstropolis, a fully themed land based on Monsters, Inc. The new addition will feature a suspended coaster inspired by the famous door scene, immersive dining, and a brand-new theater experience. That last part will replace Muppet*Vision 3D entirely.

This new direction falls in line with Disney’s recent push to bring more Pixar stories into the parks. While Monsters, Inc. is undeniably beloved, there’s a lingering ache among fans who grew up with the Muppets. Replacing a piece of history with something new may be exciting to some, but for others, it feels like watching the past fade away.
Not a Total Goodbye
There is a bit of silver lining for Muppet fans. While Muppet*Vision is being dismantled, the Muppets aren’t being erased from the park completely. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will soon be reimagined into a Muppet-themed ride, featuring the Electric Mayhem band, Kermit, and Miss Piggy. Even the gift shop will get a Muppet makeover, giving fans a new place to celebrate the characters they love.

The Emotional Goodbye
For three decades, Muppet*Vision 3D brought joy, laughter, and a distinct kind of humor that only the Muppets can deliver. It was Jim Henson’s final project, and its charm held strong through countless park transformations. Its removal isn’t just the end of a ride; it’s the end of an era.
While Monstropolis will no doubt bring new energy to Hollywood Studios, the absence of that familiar marquee is a tough reminder of how theme parks constantly evolve. And for those who grew up hearing Kermit welcome them to the show, no new land can quite fill that void.
