At 1:54 p.m. on August 18, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a stolen vehicle in a backstage service area at Magic Kingdom Park, near the Disney University cast member training center. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the dispatch on X (formerly known as Twitter):

Whether the stolen vehicle belonged to Walt Disney World Resort, a Disney cast member, or a theme park guest hasn’t been established. The Google Maps pin attached to the alert may not reflect the incident’s precise location, consistent with how emergency calls across the resort are typically tracked using generalized coordinates. Whether the vehicle was eventually recovered is also unknown.

Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has issued any statement about the incident. Further details may emerge if a police report is filed or criminal charges are pursued.

No Guest Impact

Because the incident occurred backstage rather than in a guest-facing area, Magic Kingdom Park guests are unlikely to have encountered any disruption as a result of Tuesday afternoon’s law enforcement response. Operations at the park continue normally, and families should feel comfortable proceeding with their plans.

As always, anyone who encounters a law enforcement or emergency response during a Walt Disney World Resort visit should follow all instructions from cast members and officers on the scene and give any restricted areas appropriate space.
