Rosario Dawson Has Not Returned as Ahsoka in New ‘Star Wars’
The Star Wars galaxy has once again united two of its most beloved creative forces—Ahsoka Tano and LEGO. As production continues on Ahsoka Season 2, Lucasfilm has brought back the fan-favorite Jedi back to Disney+ sooner than expected. This time, it’s in animated form, voiced once again by Ashley Eckstein in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past.
Introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), Ahsoka Tano became one of the saga’s defining characters, growing from Anakin Skywalker’s rebellious apprentice into a symbol of independence and resilience. Voiced by Eckstein through The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Tales of the Jedi, her voice remains synonymous with the character—even after Rosario Dawson’s live-action takeover in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Eckstein confirmed her return for the new four-part LEGO series, premiering September 19, 2025. “When I got the call that I was going to be returning as Ahsoka, I cried […] I’ve missed her so much. I’ve missed you all so much,” Eckstein said during the event, as reported by StarWars.com. “This has really been a dream come true. I am such a huge fan of LEGO. I have so many of these Ahsoka BrickHeadz, and I now get to voice her!”
The actress went on to reflect on her deep connection to the character. “Last time I was on this stage, I talked about how Ahsoka lives in all of us, and we’ve really made Ahsoka’s story our own story… There’s so much heart in BrickHeadz Ahsoka, and we’re all going to relate to her. You’re going to love it.”
Speaking with ComicsOnline, Eckstein revealed that her performance in Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past was treated with the same emotional gravity as her earlier Star Wars projects. “Nothing changed vocally at all. I voiced Ahsoka in this as if I was doing an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The only thing that consciously changes depending on the project is her age.”
She clarified that the version of Ahsoka in the new series is a familiar one. “This is Season 7 Ahsoka. This is after she’s… walked away from the Jedi Order, and she’s seen a lot at this point,” she said.
In a conversation with Nerd Reactor, Eckstein emphasized that even in LEGO form, Ahsoka stays true to her roots. “Ahsoka doesn’t think she’s in a comedic universe. Everything is very serious to her in this universe,” she explained.
Between Eckstein’s return and Ahsoka Season 2’s ongoing production, it’s clear Lucasfilm is doubling down on one of its most enduring characters—across every possible medium.
