Magic Kingdom Sold Out Weeks in Advance of Key Date

If you’ve ever dreamed of ringing in the New Year at Magic Kingdom, you’ll need to act fast—actually, you may already be too late. Disney has announced that the park is “sold out” for certain guests on December 31, 2025, one of the most sought-after dates on the calendar.

Reservations Gone Before the Celebration

While Disney has loosened its rules for most date-based tickets, several groups of guests still need to secure theme park reservations. That includes Annual Passholders, Florida Resident Discover Disney ticket holders, Disney Military Salute ticket holders, student groups, and convention or sports ticket holders. For those categories, Magic Kingdom is already showing no availability on New Year’s Eve.

This early sell-out sends a clear message: the park is bracing for an incredibly busy night.

Annual Passholders Still Have a Chance

Not all hope is lost. Disney confirmed that some tiers of Annual Passholders still have the ability to snag reservations. But time is running short, and Disney has emphasized that holiday reservations—like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s—should be locked in as soon as possible. Availability can change in a heartbeat, and nothing is final until that reservation is secured.

Why This Matters for Holiday Travelers

Many guests plan their holiday vacations months in advance, booking resort stays, flights, and dining experiences. But without a park reservation, none of that guarantees admission to Magic Kingdom on a night like New Year’s Eve. The reservation system makes it crystal clear which parks will be bursting at the seams, and Magic Kingdom almost always tops that list.

The Bigger Picture

Disney’s reservation policy isn’t new, but it has reshaped the way guests prepare for holiday trips. The fact that Magic Kingdom has already sold out weeks in advance shows how much demand there is to celebrate under the fireworks at Cinderella Castle.

If your plans don’t include a confirmed reservation, you’ll need to pivot—whether that means heading to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom. Those parks may still be available, but expect them to fill up soon as well.

For now, the message is simple: don’t wait. If you want to spend New Year’s Eve at Disney, plan smarter and lock down those reservations as early as possible.
