Universal Orlando Resort has officially revealed the first original haunted house for Halloween Horror Nights 34: El Artista – A Spanish Haunting. This highly anticipated experience promises to take guests on a chilling journey through 19th-century Spain, where a tortured artist moves into an isolated manor, only to find his art possesses him in terrifying ways. The announcement marks a significant moment in the history of the event, as it introduces an entirely original concept, setting the stage for a hauntingly unique experience at this year’s event.
Fans Overjoyed by the Return of Original Concepts
The introduction of El Artista has been met with overwhelming excitement from fans who have long expressed their desire for more original concepts at Halloween Horror Nights. While Universal Orlando has made its mark by adapting iconic horror films and TV shows—such as The Walking Dead, Stranger Things, and The Exorcist—the decision to create an original haunted house represents a refreshing departure from the usual. This bold move signals Universal’s willingness to experiment with fresh storytelling and new ideas, offering a thrilling alternative for horror fans seeking something entirely new.
In response to this announcement, fans have been vocal in their enthusiasm, praising Universal for bringing back original narratives that can introduce fresh scares and surprises to the event. The concept behind El Artista—where art becomes alive and possesses the artist—creates a deeply unsettling atmosphere, combining elements of obsession, madness, and the supernatural in a way that promises to be truly terrifying. For many, this is a much-needed return to the roots of what makes Halloween Horror Nights such a unique experience: original, boundary-pushing concepts that leave a lasting impact.

An Immersive, Gothic Experience Set in 19th-Century Spain
The setting of El Artista is just as important as its haunting premise. The house will take guests to a 19th-century Spanish manor, featuring Gothic architecture, shadowy corners, and atmospheric lighting. Spanish-language dialogue will immerse visitors even further in this eerie environment, while the haunting presence of the artist’s creations will add a terrifying layer of horror. With set designs that bring the artist’s ghostly visions to life, the house is expected to feature spine-chilling visuals and soundscapes that will heighten the sense of unease throughout the experience.
El Artista – A Spanish Haunting is shaping up to be a must-see attraction for Halloween Horror Nights 34. As Universal continues to reveal more about this original concept, excitement is building among fans eager to witness how this dark and creative narrative unfolds. With its Gothic atmosphere, original storytelling, and the haunting presence of the possessed artwork, El Artista is poised to be a standout house at this year’s event.
Fans are already speculating about other potential original houses that may follow in the footsteps of El Artista. As Halloween Horror Nights 34 draws closer, Universal’s bold choice to return to original content has added an extra layer of anticipation, ensuring this year’s event will be one to remember for horror enthusiasts.
Original concept houses are split to IP usually half and half. The IP houses are more memorable and the merchandise sells better. The only thing that sets HHN apart is their IP Houses. I am so tired of the chain gang model of conga line through a house and someone jumps out every 15 seconds. I would much rather walk through an interesting set where things are going on that I can look at.
