Zack Snyder Celebrates ‘Justice League’s Epic Comeback

The Snyderverse remains one of the most discussed eras in DC’s cinematic history. Featuring the three Zack Snyder films, Man of Steel (2013), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021), this part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) introduced a darker tone and a cast that continues to resonate with fans.

At the center of that is Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman), whose portrayal is still widely regarded as one of the most popular since Christopher Reeve (Clark Kent/Superman).

Alongside him, Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/Batman) also earned a strong following, particularly after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) expanded his role. By comparison, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Universe—led by David Corenswet (Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman) in Superman (2025)—has yet to generate the same level of attachment among audiences.

That ongoing support has resurfaced again following new developments around Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021). With HBO Max content now available in India through JioHotstar, the film has climbed to No. 1 on the platform’s Top 10 Movies chart.

The director himself confirmed the milestone on Instagram, writing, “Zack Snyder’s Justice League just hit #1 on JioHotstar’s Top 10 Movies — right as HBO Max officially launched there! Beating out Harry Potter, Avengers: Endgame, and more… The real Justice League is finally available in India the way it was meant to be seen. 4 hours of epicness. Black suit Superman. Full Cyborg story. Darkseid tease. Who else is firing up JioHotstar right now?”

There’s currently no verifiable data to confirm Justice League‘s new streaming success — just Snyder’s Instagram post. Still, the renewed attention comes as the film marks its five-year anniversary.

Speaking to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Zack Snyder reflected on both its legacy and the possibility of continuation, saying, “We absolutely talked about it quite a bit. We live in a world where all that is possible. Whatever form it would take, that would be amazing.”

He also addressed the challenges behind bringing the project to life after Justice League (2017), noting, “there were numerous times, dark times, when there was no chance that there will ever be my version of it.”

While the DCEU has now given way to James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU—with upcoming titles including Supergirl (June 26, 2026), Clayface (October 23, 2026), and Man of Tomorrow (July 9, 2027)—fan demand for Snyder’s storyline has not faded. In fact, the continued success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) suggests that interest in that version of the DC universe remains very much alive.

Do you think the Snyderverse should return? If so, how? In film or another medium entirely? Share your thoughts with us!
