Calling all Zac Efron and East High Wildcats fans! Would you be interested in seeing Zac Efron star in another High School Musical? Well, a fourth movie could just happen with Efron!
Disney’s High School Musical movie became an instant success for its teenage plot and high-spirited music and dancing in 2006. The movie was quick to spark a High School Musical franchise, prompting High School Musical 2 (2007) and High School Musical 3 (2008). Now, 16 years later, is it time for High School Musical 4 to become a thing?
The film’s staring couple and East High School sweethearts known as Troy Bolton (played by Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (played by Vanessa Hudgens) have reportedly both agreed that they would be thrilled to join in a High School Musical 4.

During a recent interview with Entertainment News, Zac Efron was asked if he would be interested in a High School Musical 4 reboot. Efron’s answer is “Of course, of course!” He goes on to say having the opportunity in any form to go back to the High School Musical team would be great, and that his heart is still there. Efron finishes the question with, “I hope it happens.”

ENews goes on to further note in the social media post, “What time is it? Time to start brainstorming the plot for HSM 4.” It’s an interesting thought for sure, and we would be all for seeing Zac, the original cast, and the High School Musical team make a reboot.
It wasn’t too long ago that High School Musical: The Musical: The Series premiered on Disney Channel, ABC, and Freeform as a preview simulcast on November 8, 2019, ahead of its launch on Disney+ on November 12, 2019. We think now is the perfect time for Disney to begin working on the fourth installment of a High School Musical movie!
