Young woman discovers her husband’s affair with the family nanny, thanks to a ride photo at Disney World

The Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, has long been nicknamed “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” but for one British wife and mom, it was anything but.

On a family vacation to Disney World, U.K. mom Natalie, her husband, her child, and one of the family’s nannies spent a day at Magic Kingdom. All seemed well until Natalie began to take a closer look at a photo from the Splash Mountain attraction at Frontierland.

Instead of the PhotoPass photo showing a hilarious expression on a family member’s face or the sheer look of terror on an unsuspecting Guest’s face as he or she experiences the 5-story drop at Splash Mountain for the first time.

No, the photo showed something more terrifying than the 50-foot plunge at the famed water attraction: it confirmed for Natalie that her husband and the family’s nanny were involved in an extramarital relationship.

Natalie posted a video online that has since been taken down, Natalie detailed her experience of going through old photos and discovering the indiscretion as she looked specifically at photos from the family’s Disney vacation.

In the clip, Natalie shared a photo of her former husband with their nanny, and it’s clear they are snuggling together during the ride. Natalie and her child were seated in the first row, while Natalie’s husband and the nanny were seated behind them in the second row of Magic Kingdom‘s icon log flume ride, Splash Mountain.

“We went to Disney [World] in Orlando and took the nanny with us to help with the kids … Not the husband,” Natalie posted as the caption to her video. “I was going through old photos and came across more than one where they were a little too close.”

After Natalie posted the online video, the family’s nanny filed for a restraining order against her. But Natalie’s wayward exhusband has been “lovely and remorseful” ever since the couple parted ways, according to Natalie.

Natalie and her husband were divorced, but later, Natalie shared yet another video, this time explaining that the nanny has since moved into the home that Natalie and her husband once shared. She also said that the nanny had filed a police report against Natalie.

She also shared that the nanny had just given birth to the couple’s first baby.

“My ex-husband has actually been quite lovely and remorseful, and just sweet considering the situation,” Natalie said in a post. But, she says the nanny has “been quite the opposite.”

The scorned mother says that the nanny sends her awful messages and that she has been banned from going to her old home to pick up her children.

“She actually filed a police report against me at the beginning of all of this,” Natalie said.

On a positive note, Natalie said she was able to finally convince the nanny to drop charges against her, but she also said she just wishes her ex-husband and nanny had just been honest about their relationship.

At least Natalie had the magic of Disney PhotoPass photos to help make things clear to her.

“At the end of the day, if they really love each other – they just had a baby together – then, who am I to stop them from being together?” Natalie said. “The way that it was handled was just so wrong, and her attitude towards me is just so wrong.”

Here’s hoping Natalie’s next trip to Disney World will truly bring magic to her and her children.

About Becky Burkett

I'm an enthusiastic writer who finds joy in random things like cold weather, snow, "I Love Lucy," "The Andy Griffith Show," journals full of blank paper, countdowns to Christmas, the month of December, "Toy Story," "Sleeping Beauty," my 4 kids, my 4 shih tsus, Disney Parks history, Imagineering and visiting the parks. I think Walt Disney is the standard against which genius should be measured. I love to write about Disney Parks, Disney history, all things Imagineering and PIXAR. I adore the colors, story and art direction of Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" (Team Make it Blue!), and "Toy Story" is life (minus "Toy Story 4"). I believe Walt Disney was so much more than an entertainment and theme park tycoon; I believe he was a savant with a vision for life and how it could be if happiness and kindness are strived for. I love Biergarten at EPCOT and 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian. You can find me croonin' with the birdies at the Enchanted Tiki Room, chillin' on the PeopleMover or hangin' with Woody and the gang at Toy Story Land. I'm always looking for Imagineers in the parks, and I'd rather meet Joe Rohde and Tony Baxter than anyone in Hollywood! Hey, if you dream it, you really can do it!
