A Disneyland Resort guest has sparked outrage online after debuting a controversial Disney Bound inspired by the devastating wildfires that recently swept through Los Angeles. The outfit, shared on social media, has drawn criticism for being insensitive and out of touch, igniting a heated debate among Disney Parks fans.
What Is Disney Bounding?
Disney Bounding is a popular way for Disney Parks guests to show off their love for characters, attractions, or themes without breaking the parks’ strict dress code. While adults aren’t allowed to wear full costumes that could confuse children, Disney Bounds use fashion and accessories to create looks inspired by Disney properties.
Guests often get creative, crafting Disney Bounds that pay tribute to everything from iconic characters like Mickey Mouse and Cinderella to entire lands or attractions in theme parks. Disney even encourages the practice by releasing themed apparel and accessories to inspire fans.
But last week, Instagrammer Liz Carroll (@dark_darlin) took this creativity in a divisive direction, sharing a Disney Bound explicitly inspired by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. The outfit became a lightning rod for criticism.
Controversial Disney Bound
Carroll, reportedly a member of the Disney cosplay group D3Darlins, posted a photo of herself wearing the wildfire-inspired outfit at Disneyland Resort. The group describes its mission as creating “fashionable themed clothing everyday and in the theme parks. There are no rules here on what you should wear or how you wear it.”
While Carroll’s account has since been made private, Redditor u/chaotic-magic shared a screenshot of the Instagram post. The social media user suggested that other D3Darlins members may have participated in the controversial Disney Bound, but no evidence exists online.
“Was coming here to ask if anyone saw the rest of the group lol. Only saw hers though 💀.”

The post quickly amassed negative feedback.
“What a Disgusting person,” u/unfortunatesoul_13 commented. “People lost everything, people died! I genuinely can’t believe some people.”
“[She] posted it on her Instagram for the world to see?” u/disneythrowaway1971 asked. “Like that was a good idea?”
Disney Parks fans overwhelmingly expressed frustration at Carroll’s decision to use a tragic event as fashion inspiration. User u/sweetolive242 summed up commenters’ feelings: “As someone who is native LA, she should stay away. She clearly is not reading the room.”
Carroll Responds
Although Carroll hasn’t issued a public response, she updated her private Instagram bio with a statement seemingly addressing the backlash:
“Not a content creator
Not an influencer
Not a cosplayer
Just a weirdo having fun with her friends.”
Her profile photo also features another angle of the allegedly wildfire-inspired outfit.
Was this Disney Bound inappropriate? Disney Dining would love to hear your opinion in the comments.
This content is 1000% inappropriate, insensitive, demeaning, hurtful and rude!”She she be banned from Disneyland.
I most definitely agree. Only a thoughtless and heartless moron would do such a stupid and despicable thing like that. A person like that should be banned from all disney parks
