Warner Bros. Officially Unveils Its Own ‘Jurassic Park’ Movie, Releases This Year

The newly released trailer for The End of Oak Street has placed the upcoming Warner Bros. film firmly in the spotlight, positioning it as one of the most intriguing new entries in the dinosaur movie genre since Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park was released in 1993.

Directed by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows) and produced by J.J. Abrams, The End of Oak Street stars Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada) and Ewan McGregor (Doctor Sleep) as a couple whose life is abruptly transformed into something far more prehistoric.

“After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings,” the official synopsis from Warner Bros. states.

Now, a full trailer for the film, released on June 1, has premiered online. Watch it below:

The premise alone has drawn immediate comparisons to the long-running Jurassic Park franchise, which has dominated mainstream blockbuster cinema for decades, and just last year grossed $869.1 million worldwide with its seventh installment, Jurassic World Rebirth.

The Jurassic franchise, however, despite its commercial resilience, has faced growing criticism in recent years. Rebirth was a commercial hit, but reception among critics and fans was notably divided. The same can be said about its two predecessors, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022). Despite each grossing over $1 billion worldwide, they came under fire for their weak scripts and creative choices.

While the franchise is expected to continue with another sequel, questions remain about where it can realistically go next. As such, The End of Oak Street arrives with perfect timing. Its suburban setting, survival tone, and big-budget dinosaurs have already sparked comparisons, even before release.

Whether it becomes a genuine rival or simply another entry in the genre remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Warner Bros. is aiming at an audience long accustomed to the Jurassic Park franchise.

The End of Oak Street will be released on August 14, 2026.
