Walt Disney World has no shortage of wonderful experiences. Indeed, as the Most Magical Place on Earth, you’d be hard-pressed not to find a little magic on your next visit to its four theme parks! However, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and EPCOT have all faced issues with one aspect of the magic: their nighttime spectacular performances!
Especially after the 50th-anniversary celebration began, Disney Guests took an extreme dislike to the new offerings, which replaced beloved Disney Park staples like Rivers of Light, Illuminations, the previously shuttered Fantasmic!, and the now infamous Happily Ever After fireworks above Cinderella Castle. Previously, Disney replaced the “astounding fireworks extravaganza featuring lights, lasers and special effects” with Enchantment, another nighttime performance in honor of the 50th celebration.

Unfortunately, Disney fans hated this new offering and, for years since, have petitioned the Florida Resort for the return of the iconic show. Now, Happily Ever After will return and include updated effects such as “all-new projections down Main Street, U.S.A.,” according to the Walt Disney World website.
As further described:
Go on a dazzling journey of color, light and song that captures the heart, humor and heroism of favorite Disney stories. Watch in awe as Cinderella Castle is magically transformed through amazing state-of-the art projection technology you have to see to believe. Discover the magic of stories—and be inspired to find your own happily ever after.

Moreover, the 18-minute-long show celebrates the magic of Disney stories through pyrotechnics and contemporary versions of some of the fans’ favorite songs. Plus, Disney gave Magic Kingdom Cast Members an exclusive first look at the show’s return, as shared on the Disney Parks Tiktok:

In the video, thousands of Walt Disney World employees chant before the start, sing along to the score, scream, jump, and dance. One even falls to her knees upon seeing the fireworks display, which is a great indication of how all Guests will feel when Happily Ever After debuts to the public on April 3, 2023!
