The original Frozen film took the world by storm, earning over $400 million in North America alone, and mountainous $1.28 billion internationally, making it the highest-grossing film that year.
However, Frozen wasn’t just the highest-grossing film of 2013. For years, the animated movie was the highest-grossing animated film ever, and it would hold that record until 2019 when the live-action remake of The Lion King finally beat it.

The Frozen Fever Is Still Going Strong!
In short, Frozen took the world by snowstorm, and fans all over the world were infected with the ‘Frozen Fever.’ Suddenly, everyone’s favorite Disney Princess was either Anna or Elsa, despite neither of them being official Disney Princesses.
Then, when Frozen II (2019) came out, that same Frozen Fever was only reinvigorated. In fact, the sequel remains the second highest-grossing animated film to this day.
But now, a new sequel is appearing, and it’s different from anything a Disney studio has ever tried before. The upcoming Frozen sequel will be in the form of…a podcast? It’s true!
Disney announces a new 12-episode "Frozen" podcast that takes place after the events of Frozen 2. It arrives in October.

A Disney Sequel Podcast? Unheard Of!
This first-ever podcast sequel will follow the events of Frozen 2, as the original ensemble of characters (followed by some new characters) band together to “bring order to the kingdom and restore the Spirits of Nature.”
At this point, we know that this upcoming podcast will be at least 12 episodes long, and will debut in October. However, we don’t have a specific release date, nor do we know if the original voice actors will return to reprise their roles.
That being said, stay tuned to Disney Dining for the latest updates on this exciting, historical sequel!
