Although it’s not old news that Universal Studios Orlando is adding a new park to its roster, it’s definitely not as well-known as you’d think. Much of the information regarding Universal Orlando Resort’s has been kept under lock and key, only being released bit by bit.

What we do know is that Universal Orlando Resort’s upcoming theme park will be called ‘Epic Universe.’ We know that Epic Universe will double the size of Universal Orlando Resort.
We also know that this upcoming theme park will include a Super Nintendo World and another addition to the Resort’s Wizarding World areas.

However, a new bombshell has been dropped, giving us new insight to the attractions that might be a part of the Universal Park: a new technology patent.

According to a report by Orlando Inno, Universal Destinations & Experiences has recently filed a patent for interactive, wearable technology. Looking at the concept art, we can imagine some sort of virtual reality helmet.
The patent is reportedly named, “interactive device of an attraction system,” and will include both a display and a microphone. This technological advance is a far cry from the typical 3D glasses Guests often wear to fully enjoy certain attractions.

At this time, we don’t know how many rides will utilize this new technology, nor which attractions will use it. Unfortunately, only time will answer these questions. But on the bright side: it seems that this will be worth the wait.
