While we typically only cover all things Disney, Walt Disney World’s neighbor, Universal Orlando Resort, has made a major change in their safety guidelines effective immediately. Universal is reducing social distancing to three feet from the previous six feet. They are also removing temperature checks. Check out the details below.
As updated on the Universal Orlando Resort website: “New Safety Guidelines: Getting Closer to Normal: We’re excited to enhance your Universal experience with the latest safety updates from local health and government officials. There are no more temperature checks upon entry. And Social Distancing between travel parties is now reduced to three feet (1 meter). Still, most of our original safety protocols remain unchanged—from wearing face coverings across our Resort to our ongoing dedication to cleanliness and sanitization.”

Do you think Walt Disney World will follow suit soon? Disney has announced they are phasing out temperature checks beginning May 16. Other relaxed guidelines at Walt Disney World include removal of masks for outdoor photos and the ability to fill and refill your own beverages at fountain stations. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more of what’s to come as Disney and Universal navigate CDC and local health official guidelines.
