Weather Warnings and Park’s Response

Meteorologists have issued urgent weather warnings for the Orlando area, predicting the arrival of a powerful tropical storm that is expected to bring intense rainfall and gusty winds. Local authorities and weather experts are advising residents and visitors to prepare for possible flooding and hazardous conditions.

In light of these warnings, Universal Orlando Resort’s management has stated that the park plans to operate as usual until further notice. Universal Orlando Resort hopes to never have to close for weather, but they do have a policy in case it comes to that. The policy states:

“While an incredible vacation awaits at Universal Orlando Resort™, unfortunately we can’t make guarantees about the weather, but your travel plans can still be stress-free. In the event that a hurricane or tropical storm warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center or a state of emergency is declared for the Orlando area or in your place of residence, within seven days of your arrival, you can contact our team in advance to reschedule or cancel your Universal Parks & Resorts Vacations Package, hotel room only accommodations and Universal Orlando theme park tickets booked directly with Universal Orlando, without any cancellation or change fees imposed. If you have purchased airline tickets as part of your Universal Parks and Resorts Vacations package, you may still be subject to cancellation and change fees assessed by those airlines.”

“At this time, our park operations and hours are continuing as normal. We are closely monitoring the weather. Please check back for updates.”

Looking Ahead to This Weekend

As the storm approaches, Universal Orlando Resort’s decision to remain open will be closely monitored. The park’s management is prepared to adjust its operations based on real-time weather conditions and safety assessments.
