Ah, Disney World! The sights, sounds, and numerous incredible experiences that make up this resort area truly do come together to create the most magical place on earth. That said, the number of amazing things to see and do in this magical land can be a bit too much. After all, most of us only have a limited amount of vacation time to spend, and this means we have to pick and choose which experiences to take part in. Wondering how on earth you’re going to decide what to do during your visit? This is a problem we understand entirely. Therefore, we are going to use this article to help you out by listing the top ten things that must be done during any Disney World vacation. Get these items checked off your list, and you can go home knowing you experienced the best of the best.

1. Ride at Least One Mountain

As most Disney fans know, Disney World is home to a few different mountain rides. These include Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom, as well as Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom. In any case, you will want to ride at least one of these iconic mountain theme rides during your visit.

2. Have a Dole Whip

Dole Whip is quite possibly the most well known dessert served in Disney World, and for good reason. This delicious concoction is a vanilla and pineapple soft-serve ice cream swirl that is simply irresistible. Be sure to grab one while in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom.

3. Walk Around the World

In Epcot’s World Showcase you’ll have the opportunity to walk “around the world” in as little time as one afternoon. Take advantage of this, and be sure to do some shopping and snacking while you’re at it. This area includes some of the most unique shopping and dining experiences on Disney property.

4. Go on a Safari

Animal Kingdom offers guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with some truly amazing animals. Hop on Kilimanjaro Safaris and see such creatures as zebras, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and more as they go through their usual daily activities, all from the comfort of a Jeep.

5. Experience Pandora

Another awesome Animal Kingdom experience is stepping into the world of Pandora. Here, bioluminescent plants light up the nights, strange creatures inhabit the waters, and the incredible Flight of Passage ride awaits. Don’t forget to grab some Pandora cuisine such as cheeseburger pods while you’re there.

6. See at Least One Quality Production

If there’s one thing Disney knows how to do, it’s entertainment. Therefore, as you might imagine, the shows at the Disney parks are truly top notch. In fact, we’d even go so far as to say that some of the performances are just as good as something you might see on Broadway. This means you have the opportunity to see Broadway-caliber productions without paying anything extra. Take advantage of this opportunity! Some of the best shows in the parks include “Finding Nemo the Musical” and “Festival of the Lion King”, both in Animal Kingdom. We also enjoy “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!” and “Beauty and the Beast” in Hollywood Studios.

7. Have One Unique Dining Experience

Amazing dining experiences are all over the place in Disney World. From character dining to awesome themed restaurants, there are tons of options. Be sure to work at least one of these unique experiences into your schedule and make sure to reserve a table in advance. Not sure where to eat? Here are some of our favorites:

  • Be Our Guest
  • Crystal Palace
  • Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater
  • 50s Prime Time Café
  • Garden Grill

8. Check Out Toy Story Land & Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

The newest lands in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge. Both of these lands are seriously well done. Every little detail has been thought of, and it really shows. Even if you don’t ride anything at all, the lands are well worth visiting just to see the theming.

9. Hop on a Dark Ride

Disney made the dark ride what it is today, beginning with such attractions as Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Peter Pan’s Flight, and working up to the more modern attractions that are full of special effects. Therefore, nothing is more Disney than a dark ride, and you absolutely must ride at least one of them during your vacation.

10. See a Fireworks Show

Finally, you won’t want to miss the incredible fireworks shows that happen on a nightly basis in Disney World Resort. Whether you choose “Happily Ever After” at Magic Kingdom or “Epcot Forever” at Epcot, you’ll find yourself in awe of these incredible performances in the sky.
