After the opening of Galaxy’s Edge, Guests have been on the edge of their seat for more immersive Star Wars experiences.
The next most anticipated addition to Walt Disney World is the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. This immersive hotel experience is like nothing we have seen before, and we can’t wait! Slowly we are learning more about this adventure that is coming soon, and today we will discuss what we currently know.
When will the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser be opening?
Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is scheduled to begin voyages beginning in the spring of 2022. This gives Disney a large window of opportunity in terms of picking an opening month. Personally, I would speculate March/April, but as we just noted, that is purely a speculation at this point.
What is it the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser?
This is a great question and not something we typically ask when it comes to our hotel stays. This isn’t like any other hotel, though, as it is being advertised as an “experience.”
Here is how Disney describes it:
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary new 2-night experience where you are the hero. You and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure that’s your own. It’s the most immersive Star Wars story ever created—one where you live a bespoke experience and journey further into a Star Wars adventure than you ever dreamed possible.
Arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort terminal, board a launch pod, and rendezvous with the magnificent Halcyonstarcruiser. Stay in a cabin or suite with an exquisite view of space. Throughout the ship, you’ll interact with an eclectic collection of characters, sit down to exotic galactic cuisine and perhaps even plot a secret mission together.
As the itinerary continues, you’ll take the story further and deeper. Choose your path. Seek out the inner workings of the legendary starship, learn the traditional art of wielding a lightsaber and even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu—where your mission continues at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
What is included in my experience?
Since this is an experience and not just a typical hotel stay, what exactly comes along with a reservation?
To start off, it will include a 2-night stay as well as meals (no alcohol or specialty beverages), as well as the opportunity to “live your Star Wars story” as you experience missions and other activities on board. A trip to Batuu is also included as part of your experience.
What accommodations are available?
Onboard the Starcruiser, Guests will be able to choose from a cabin or a suite. Both include amazing views of passing ships and planets. There are only a total of 100 rooms available so that it will be extremely limited.
A standard cabin will sleep 4 to 5 passengers and includes bunk beds were; the Galaxy Class Suite has room four passengers. It does not have the bunk beds that the standard cabin offers. If you have a larger group, you can book the Grand Captain Suite that fits 8 passengers.
What does this cost?
This won’t be a cheap adventure, that is clear. Everything depends on voyage dates, but overall, Disney has released the following pricing:
- cabin for two will be $4,809 in total
- cabin with two adults and a child will be $5,299
- cabin with four Guests, including 3 adults and 1 child, will be $5,999
Again, all of these prices are for the all-inclusive two-night experience.
What will we do onboard?
Your choices and decisions during your stay will impact your experience onboard, but no matter what you choose, there will be amazing experiences at every turn. Some of the outstanding options will be:
- Lightsaber training
- Bridge training
- Exploring Batuu
- Visiting the Sunlight Lounge
- Droid racing
- Model shipbuilding
This is just a sample of some of the activities Disney has already announced for the Starcruiser.
Can I dress up?
Absolutely! Disney is encouraging that passengers wear their galactic best. As every passenger is a unique character in the story, they are invited to dress the part.
This is just the basic information we have been given from Disney so far regarding the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser experience. Even with the little we know so far, we can 100% say that it will be like nothing we have seen before.
