It is now time for the holiday season at the Disney Parks. Decorations have arrived, and the holiday events are preparing to start. For those wanting to enjoy the holiday season at Disney, reservations would already need to be made. Two Disney Parks are unavailable for select days as we head into the holiday season.
Park Reservations
When Walt Disney World reopened following the pandemic, guests were required to make Park Pass Reservations. This asked guests to select one of the four Disney Parks (Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT) for each day of their ticket.
Disney used this to help manage crowd levels and Cast Members throughout the parks. Even though we have seen experiences return to “normal” at Walt Disney World, guests must make Park Pass Reservations before their vacations.
We haven’t seen parks reach capacity or become unavailable for a while now. Still, a few reservations are unavailable for select days and groups as we hit the holiday season.
Capacity Reached
As we prepare for the first holiday celebrations of the year, both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are unavailable on select days this month.
So far, we see Magic Kingdom unavailable on November 10 and 11, 2023. Currently, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is unavailable on November 10, 2023.
Luckily for most guests traveling to Walt Disney World, that won’t be an issue. These dates are currently unavailable to Walt Disney World Annual Passholders.
So far, we haven’t seen any restrictions for regular park tickets or those staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
Good News
The good news for those Walt Disney World Annual Passholders is that even on those select days that are unavailable, they can still visit a Disney Park. After 2:00 pm, Annual Passholders can enter any Walt Disney World Park without making reservations.
The exception to this rule, because there are always some, is that they aren’t able to go to Magic Kingdom on Saturday or Sunday.
We have also seen more capacity added so these dates might open back up.
Holiday Crowds
This tells us that Walt Disney World is anticipating larger crowds during that first week of holiday celebrations. Magic Kingdom prepares for the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas on November 9, 2023.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special ticketed event. During this event, guests enjoy some extra magic throughout Magic Kingdom. Holiday fireworks, stage shows, parades, goodies, and fun happen all night.

For the first time, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting even more involved in the holiday fun. This year, Jollywood Nights will take place on select evenings. Starting November 11, 2023, Jollywood Nights will be full of glamor and festive fun.
The excitement of these holiday celebrations seems to bring in many guests to Walt Disney World. If you plan to travel down this holiday season, make sure you have those Park Pass Reservations made.
Park Pass Reservations: No More
Remember that Park Pass Reservations will go away starting Janurary 6, 2024. If you are heading to Walt Disney World in the new year, you will no longer need to worry about this additional step in your planning.
