10) Weather

What is the average high temperature in January where you live? In Central Florida, the average high right now is in the 70s. There’s also little chance of rain at this time of year; and no chance of snow.

Winter weather is the best weather that you’ll find all year at Walt Disney World! Just don’t forget to pack a light jacket, because it can get kind of cool in the evenings.

9) Galactic Starcruiser Cancelations

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will start welcoming paying Guests on March 1. While the first several weeks are all but full, there have been some cancelations. If you can get a last minute reservation to this out-of-this-world experience, be ready to drop everything, because it will be unlike anything you’ve experienced before.

8) World’s Most Magical Celebration

Even though Walt Disney World’s Golden Anniversary was on October 1, 2021, the party continues. The World’s Most Magical Celebration will run for 18 months total! The crowds aren’t as bad as they were for the actual anniversary and the holidays, so you can really enjoy the festivities.

While at Walt Disney World, enjoy some of the special treats in all four Theme Parks. There’s 50th Anniversary merchandise as well. Take some time to search for all 50 characters in the Fab 50 collection, some of them aren’t easy to find!

7) Beacons of Magic

Beacons of Magic are part of the World’s Most Magical Celebration, but they deserve a special mention. All four Theme Park icons shimmer and shine after the sun goes down!

While all four are spectacular, our favorite is Spaceship Earth. It’s reason enough to visit Walt Disney World right now.

6) Valentine’s Day

What is more romantic than Cinderella Castle? Somehow, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.

Walt Disney World is not just for families with kids. It is also a popular destination for couples. Make a reservation at a signature restaurant and plan to spend Valentine’s Day at the most magical and romantic place on earth.

If you haven’t had a chance to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure because you weren’t able to get a spot in the Virtual Queue, you’re in luck. On January 10, the Virtual Queue will be gone and the ride will use a Standby Line instead!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is fun for all ages. You’ll shrink down to the size of a rat, and join Remy as he scurries through the kitchen at Gusteau’s. It’s fun for all ages, and without the Virtual Queue, it will be easier for many to ride.

1) EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

The newest Festival at EPCOT is the Festival of the Arts. If you’ve never been, now is the time to change that. If you have been, you know how special it is.

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts celebrates the arts in three different forms; culinary, performing, and visual. Food Studios sell delicious treats that sometimes look too good to eat. There are special works of art for sale across the Park, and you can also become a work of art yourself.

The performing arts shine, with presentations like Art Defying Gravity and Visual Art in Performance. The highlight is arguably the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, which didn’t take place last year. Teams of Broadway stars perform some of your favorite Disney classics, creating magic in its purest form.

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts may be new, but there’s something special around every corner. It is reason enough to head to Walt Disney World right now, or at least between January 14 and February 21

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
