If you have been watching the news lately, or have even stepped outside your front door, then you have probably heard that many countries are experiencing extreme heat waves. In the US, multiple states are seeing heat records broken, which has sadly resulted in a number of tragic deaths.
Just the other day, Las Vegas, Nevada, broke its heat record by reaching a whopping 120 degrees. Death Valley, California, has seen temperatures soar to an astonishing 128 degrees.

The United States is not the only country suffering from out-of-control temperatures. Other countries, including India, Saudi Arabia, and Greece, are also dealing with temperatures rarely seen before.
And then there is Japan, which is so hot that the government is issuing heatstroke warnings. However, that is not stopping travelers from enjoying their summer vacations and heading to the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. And guests want to visit the Asian theme park more than ever since the new land, Fantasy Springs, opened at Tokyo DisneySea on June 6.

So, in order to keep guests safe and cool, Tokyo Disney decided to do the most Disney thing ever, have a brand-new parade! But this is not just any typical parade, this is a parade that will give guests the cooling relief of water jets.
Baymax’s Mission: Cool Down, based on the star of Big Hero 6 (2014), will run daily through September 18 and will take place three times per day. Baymax’s mission? To cool down Tokyo Disney guests by spraying them with cold water as they stand along the parade route and watch.
Here’s more from the Tokyo Disneyland Resort website:
Baymax is entrusted with the mission of raising the “energy levels” of guests and searches for areas in need of a cool down while spraying guests with mist. When an area with “low energy levels” is detected, the float stops and guests can enjoy a refreshing spritz of water to up-beat, lively music.
Tokyo’s temperatures have been soaring into the high nineties during the day and staying in the eighties at night. While temperatures for the rest of the week are expected to remain in the 80s, they will be back in the 90s next week.
While traveling to Tokyo might take quite a while for a lot of people, more Americans than ever are booking their tickets overseas. The value of the yen is decreasing, and tickets to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are cheaper than they have been in 34 years.
Unfortunately, some guests have found themselves unable to book reservations due to a glitch in the reservation system. Some have been trying for days, but are getting nowhere. They are sharing their frustrations online and are being told that the system is old and out-of-date, but things usually work themselves out.
