Watch Tilly, the iconic Main Street Cinema Cast Member, receive a brand-new look in honor of the Walt Disney Company’s Disney100 celebration!
Disneyland’s Main Street Cinema is a quiet refuge for Disney Park Guests, with six screens, each of which plays a different Mickey Mouse short with recorded musical accompaniment. Of course, when the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971 at the Walt Disney World Resort, it also sported a Cinema location until 1998 when Walt Disney Imagineering converted the space into the Art of Disney Store.

According to the Yesterland blog, Disney Parks gave Tilly her very own Cast Member name tag by 2009, but when she first started manning the Main Street Cinema ticket booth remains unknown. Presumably, a real person once controlled the ticket booth, back when the small movie theater required a 25-cent B ticket for admission, if not a nearby turnstile.
Moreover, Tilly’s name tag lists her hometown as Marceline, Missouri, the same city where a young Walt Disney grew up on his family’s farm and which inspired Main Street, U.S.A. Typically, she wears an early 1900s outfit in shades of cream, gold, and green with pearl accents that compliment her blonde coiffure.

However, in a video posted to the Disney Parks Blog TikTok, which references the “Get Ready With Me” trend, Tilly has received a fabulous new makeover celebrating the 100 Years of Wonder event! In line with the color scheme of the Disney100 platinum anniversary, Tilly now wears a metallic and purple striped ensemble, complete with a beautiful straw hat, new purse, diamond brooch, and new ticket details!

Additionally, you’ll see Imagineers hand-craft her a resin cup of tea, including a lemon wedge and violet macarons to enjoy on her break! I wonder if she got them from the Main Street Confectionary or the Plaza Inn!

Finally, they add in a new nametag, which all Cast Members received as part of the Disney100. Now, rather than a hometown, Tilly’s tag proclaims her favorite Disney character, which, apparently, is Mickey Mouse. You can see Tilly’s new look and all the new and exciting additions for the 100 Years of Wonder on your next visit to the Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World!
