Star Wars fans have been wondering about Rey’s parents ever since we met the heroine in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It wasn’t until recently that star Jodie Comer discussed her role as Rey’s mother and she had nothing but positive things to say about the experience.
“It was spectacular,” Comer detailed to Entertainment Weekly. “But I had to keep that a secret for a long, long, long time.”
Looking at the production and development of the film, Comer went on to discuss how amazed she was by it all.
“Hearing the detail that goes into the makeup and the costumes, it was so eye-opening,” the actor admitted. “Speaking about green screen and visual effects, when I got Star Wars, I was like, ‘They’ll probably be a lot that I don’t see.’ But these kinds of figures, their mouths move and they were remote-controlled and there was so much there that you didn’t have to imagine.”
Comer probably won’t be back in any Star War movies or series moving forward as it seems that Rey’s journey wrapped up in the final entry of the Skywalker Saga, but it was fun to hear her thoughts on the production and cameo as Rey’s mom.
