This latest news is startling to hear.
In the last year, many rides and attractions at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have undergone serious renovations. Some of these renovations are part of rethemes, like the transformation from Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Walt Disney World. Other renovations are less exciting and are happening because many rides are showing their ages. This is especially apparent at Disneyland Resort because of how old some of the rides are.
Fans are beginning to feel concerned over the upkeep of many of their favorite attractions. It is hard not to notice all of the new ride shutdowns that have been happening. Guests put their full trust in Disney to provide a safe experience in the Parks, but Guests are beginning to grow wary of Disney’s upkeep.
A recent video showed some shocking leaks on Splash Mountain has again reignited this debate.
Splash Mountain Leaking; Refurbishment Needed Fast
Right now, Splash Mountain in Disneyland is getting ready for its permanent closure. The ride, which is located in Critter Country at Disneyland Park, is closing down on May 31 to begin its retheme into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Because the closure is only about a month away, more and more Guests are flocking to the ride to experience it before it is all over.
While Splash Mountain is being rethemed due to the controversial movie it is based on; it does seem that the ride needs to be updated as well. A recent video from Guests riding the attraction shows some pretty intense leaking happening on the ride. Despite this being a water-soaking log flume ride, this leaking is not planned. A fan in the Disneyland Reddit shared their report, saying:
“Splash mountain is leaking at the end of the ride right before the loading/unloading area. The ride has been down for about 4 hours today and I’m starting to think this is why since this wasn’t happening this morning….”
They also shared a video showing how intense the leaking is.

This latest issue is just another thing that Disneyland Theme Park has to sort out. The past month has been nothing short of brutal for the Park, and we all hope that this safety concern is able to be addressed as soon as possible before it becomes the new reimagined ride.
