In June 2021, Guests visiting Disneyland Resort in Southern California were finally able to set foot in the newest area of Disney California Adventure Park — Avengers Campus. The Marvel-themed area was supposed to open in 2020, but that had to be pushed back because the Park was closed due to the pandemic. Avengers Campus featured a new ride — WEB SLINGERS — a ton of new places to eat, and a flying Spider-Man that continues to shock and awe Guests to this day.

The flying robotic Spider-Man is a true feat in Disney Imagineering. The robot looks real, can move like a human, and can land in a designated spot every time. At least, that’s what’s supposed to happen. As we all know, nothing goes right every single time. Guests visiting Avengers Campus recently were quite shocked when they watched Spidey fly through the air and crash into the building he was supposed to land on, completely destroying a section of the wall.

Another happy landing? The show briefly stopped for a couple of hours but was back up and running later!

If you haven’t been able to visit Avengers Campus and see Spider-Man fly through the air, the video below shows what is supposed to happen when everything goes right.

The video quickly went viral, and some asked if it was real — an edited fake video of Spider-Man crashing made the rounds on the internet months ago. However, it looks like this crash video is completely legitimate. Luckily, it looks like the damage inflicted by the robotic Spider-Man wasn’t too terrible. According to multiple people, the building was quickly fixed and Spidey was flying through the air again in no time.
