If you visit the parks at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida or the Disneyland Resort in California with any regularity, you already know that ride breakdowns are not uncommon. In fact, Disney Parks fans who visit multiple times per year can most likely name the five rides at each Resort that experience the most breakdowns or malfunctions.

And while most Guests understand that ride breakdowns happen from time to time, there are a few attractions on which they hope they never find themselves during a malfunction, especially if they have a fear of heights.
Earlier this week, Guests at the Disneyland Resort in California experienced a breakdown at one of those very attractions, and the malfunction left them . . . well, hanging. One Guest captured video of the ride as Guests were literally suspended above the ground at varying heights. The rogue attraction that day was the Soarin’ Over California attraction at Disney California Adventure.

The attraction experienced an emergency shutdown, rather than a malfunction of the operating system for the attraction. But there was a malfunction with one of the seatbelts in the middle section of the ride, causing the ride to cease operations as a safety precaution.
