It has been announced that Rachel Zegler, known currently for her role as Maria in West Side Story, has been cast as the Disney Princess Snow White for the live-action reimagining of the classic tale.
Disney confirmed the announcement by saying, “Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale,” director Marc Webb said in a statement.
The film has been in development since 2016 but is hopeful to begin production in 2022 meaning we still have a while to wait before we see Zegler transform into Snow White.

With Marc Platt as a producer, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind tunes from “La La Land,” “The Greatest Showman” and “Dear Evan Hansen,” set to write new music for the film we are sure it will be amazing.
