It was a beautiful day at Shanghai Disneyland as they officially reopened on Monday, May 11, becoming the first Disney Park to reopen amid the COVID-19 pandemic! Despite the masks, you can still see the excitment on the faces of Disney fans as they finally get to enjoy the park after roughly 4 months of closure. Check out the video and photos below of the reopening.

The limited ticket reservations filled up within minutes as the park was limited to a 30% capacity. Temperature checks were taken at the gate. Guests we asked to adhere to very specific guidelines. Yet, there was still plenty of Disney magic to go around!

Here are official Shanghai press release photos as shared on Twitter by Jordie Poblete, publisher at Disney Examiner.

Some say it’s too soon. Others say it’s long over due. Regardless of where you stand, I think we can all agree we simply can’t wait to see Walt Disney World and Disneyland reopen when the time is right. Until then, stay safe and healthy Disney fans!
