As Marvel Studios newest film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings gets ready to hit theaters, the company is hopeful that the film could make $35 to $55 million domestically as it opens Labor Day weekend.
Although this would be below Black Widow’s $80 million, September is typically a slower month in the box office making it not surprising that the projection is lower than the previous Marvel box office hit.
Shang-Chi’s journey is told with stunning visuals, the MCU’s signature spectacle, and displays of mind-blowing action, along with the talents of a diverse, stellar cast and a relatable story.
Even with the Delta Variant rising, theater owners continue to stay positive when it comes to numbers and with Bob Chapek confirmed that Shang-Chi will maintain a theatrical release, the company is hoping this is the case.
We will have to wait and see what the numbers end up being.
