Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Runners train yearly to head down to Walt Disney World for this princess-filled weekend in February.

The event begins on February 23 with a 5k event that is great for families, beginners, or people who want to try out a runDisney event for the first time. On the following day, February 24, the race is a 10k, and on February 25, the race weekend wraps up with the Disney Princess Half Marathon.

According to the runDisney website, all three events and the Disney Fairytale Challenge are sold out. If you love these new medals, you can sign up for the virtual races and receive the same medals at home.

runDisney advertises the 2024 race weekend as an opportunity to celebrate how we are all heroes each day.

Because each step forward, each act of kindness, each smile at a stranger… these are the moments that define your character—and can change the world. Join us for a race (or three!) and discover a brave, new hero or heroine within with a whole lotta heart. Together, let’s celebrate all of life’s courageous moments––start lines, finish lines and everything in between.”

For the half marathon, Tiana is the princess on the medal. Have your dreams come true just like Tiana as you push to the finish line. This finisher medal shows not only Tiana but also Louis celebrating with music.

Finally, those runners completing the 10K and Half Marathon will receive the Disney Fairytale Challenge medal. This medal has Elsa, Anna, and Olaf with a beautiful snowflake as the centerpiece.

No matter what distance you choose to run or where you choose to run, the Disney Princess Half Marathon medals are full of magic.

“The courage to start. The dedication to work hard. Resilience after setbacks. Being kind and considerate. These are the daily actions that define our character and make us true heroes.”

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
