Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, presented by CORKCICLE, will be at Walt Disney World Resort from February 22 to 26, 2024. During this runDisney event, runners worldwide head to Walt Disney World for a magical, princess-filled weekend.
Today, runDisney revealed the medals for the 2024 event. These medals are full of “heroic” princesses. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the medals represent “Princesses and Queens, it’s the courage to embark on the journey, jump out of the tower, open the restaurant, and find the fifth spirit.”
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend
Runners train yearly to head down to Walt Disney World for this princess-filled weekend in February.
The event begins on February 23 with a 5k event that is great for families, beginners, or people who want to try out a runDisney event for the first time. On the following day, February 24, the race is a 10k, and on February 25, the race weekend wraps up with the Disney Princess Half Marathon.
According to the runDisney website, all three events and the Disney Fairytale Challenge are sold out. If you love these new medals, you can sign up for the virtual races and receive the same medals at home.
runDisney advertises the 2024 race weekend as an opportunity to celebrate how we are all heroes each day.
“Because each step forward, each act of kindness, each smile at a stranger… these are the moments that define your character—and can change the world. Join us for a race (or three!) and discover a brave, new hero or heroine within with a whole lotta heart. Together, let’s celebrate all of life’s courageous moments––start lines, finish lines and everything in between.”
New Medals
The new medals feature Ariel for the 5K as runners can be “Part of Your World”. Dash past the finish line and receive this beautiful medal. Not only is Ariel featured on the medal, but the background shows Eric’s castle.
For the 10K race, follow Rapunzel by celebrating what makes your life so special. That might be family, friends, and the freedom to be yourself. The medal shows Rapunzel outside of her tower, which is featured in the background on the medal.
For the half marathon, Tiana is the princess on the medal. Have your dreams come true just like Tiana as you push to the finish line. This finisher medal shows not only Tiana but also Louis celebrating with music.
Finally, those runners completing the 10K and Half Marathon will receive the Disney Fairytale Challenge medal. This medal has Elsa, Anna, and Olaf with a beautiful snowflake as the centerpiece.
No matter what distance you choose to run or where you choose to run, the Disney Princess Half Marathon medals are full of magic.
“The courage to start. The dedication to work hard. Resilience after setbacks. Being kind and considerate. These are the daily actions that define our character and make us true heroes.”
