Disney Dining Serving up the latest Disney Eats, Treats, News, and More!
Many fans will not be able to participate in the 2024 runDisney event at Disneyland Resort.
RunDisney has become an incresingly popular activity over the years. Disney fans who love to exercise look forward to runDisney events every year. With the growing popularity, runDisney will unfortunately not be able to accommodate all the customers who want to go. Fans today were outraged when the runDisney ticketing site continued to glitch and prevent them from buying tickets.
Run Disney Sells Out
RunDisney is an event where adults and children can run races and participate in other fitness activities on Disney property. Events happen on several weekends throughout the year at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Fans love the opportunity to exercise and meet some of their favorite Disney characters. Running in a Disney race tends to be a more accepting and laid-back experience which makes the races more approachable to those looking to start competing. As an extra incentive, participants earn a Disney-themed medal at the end of their runDisney race weekend.
Earlier this year, Disney annouced that the Disneyland Half Marathon would return in 2024. Disneyland hasn’t had a Half Marathon for five years, so the announcement of this event excited runDisney fans. The Disneyland Half Marathon weekend will take place the weekend of January 11-14, 2024.

In addition to the half marathon, this weekend also will include sunrise yoga, a 5K, a 10K, and a race for kids. There will also be an option to do the Dumbo Double Dare, a challenge where racers must run both the half marathon and the 10k. RunDisney also offers virtual races and the Disney two-course challenge.
This year club runDisney members were able to register for races on February 7, 2023. The general public was able to register today, February 14, at 10 am ET/ 7 am PT.
Run Disney Fans Stuck in the Virtual Queue
Major issues started happening when tickets for the runDisney event went on sale this morning. Many fans were not able to join the runDisney virtual queue, despite refreshing their browsers. Once they were finally in the queue, some fans reported waiting over an hour.

Other fans report that it malfunctioned once they were on the ticketing site and wouldn’t let them pay.

Tickets for all events sold out incredibly fast. Many people are left feeling let down an disappointed. The virtual race is an option for those who didn’t get tickets. RunDisney will sell tickets for the virtual event beginning February 17. The 2024 Walt Disney World Half Marathon Weekend will begin public registration on April 14, 2023
