It’s no secret that Walt Disney based Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park after Disneyland Park in California. The Parks are nearly identical in layout, and each has its own castle — Sleeping Beauty in California and Cinderella in Florida. However, each Park has its unique feel, unique food offerings, and even attractions that can only be found there. One of those attractions is Indiana Jones Adventure, which can be found in Adventureland at Disneyland Park.
Indiana Jones is one of the most exciting and popular rides in Disneyland. If you have not been able to visit Disneyland Resort but have been to Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Indiana Jones Adventure is very similar to the Dinosaur attraction in terms of the ride vehicle and how it operates. Indiana Jones Adventure opened in 1995 and, along with being one of the most popular rides in the Park, it is also one of the rides that has the most operational issues and will temporarily close frequently.
If you are traveling to Disneyland Resort after the new year and through the Spring, it is important to note that you will not be able to ride Indiana Jones Adventure. According to the Disneyland website, Indiana Jones Adventure will be closed for refurbishment beginning January 9 and will not reopen until sometime in the spring of 2023.
From January 9, 2023 until spring 2023, Indiana Jones Adventure will be closed for refurbishment. Please check back for updates.
Haven’t had the chance to ride Indiana Jones Adventure? Here’s more information on the exciting, fast-paced attraction:
An Ancient Legend
Follow Indy’s footsteps into the crumbling Temple of the Forbidden Eye past intricate booby traps. Inspect carvings and frescos that tell the story of Mara, a powerful deity who promises great treasures—and vengeance to those foolish enough to gaze into its all-seeing eyes.
Brave Unimaginable Perils
Board a rugged troop transport and enter the Chamber of Destiny. Confront inconceivable dangers, like precarious precipices over molten lava, screaming mummies, swarms of giant insects, spear-throwing wraiths, collapsing bridges, slithering snakes—and a massive rolling boulder.
If you find yourself in jeopardy, only one man is brave enough—or crazy enough—to save you… Dr. Jones!
Even though Indiana Jones Adventure will be unavailable, there are still a ton of fun things to do at The Happiest Place on Earth, including celebrating Disney’s 100th Anniversary beginning January 27, 2023. As part of the celebration, there will be two new nighttime spectaculars — Wondrous Journey at Disneyland Park and World of Color – One at Disney California Adventure.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway — just like the one at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World — will also open in ToonTown on January 27.
