Disney World Pulls Pirates of the Caribbean Bar, Goes Silent on Magic Kingdom Expansion

Walt Disney World Resort made an unexpected move on May 12 when it removed booking information for the highly anticipated Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar from its official website. The change came just hours after the details were initially published and mere days after Disney Parks Blog unveiled the bar’s name: The Beak and Barrel.

Josh D’Amaro, Disney Experiences Chairman, first announced the exciting plans for a Pirates of the Caribbean bar at Destination D23 2023. Over the past two years, Disney has gradually revealed more details about the Adventureland space, including the fact that it would be a family-friendly, reservation-only experience with a strict 45-minute time limit.

On the morning of May 12, booking information for The Beak and Barrel briefly appeared on the Walt Disney World Resort website. The page indicated that reservations for the bar would initially be available only during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party events, from August 15 to October 31, 2025. Walt Disney World Resort also shared information about the event dates, ticket prices, and other specifics regarding the Magic Kingdom after-hours Halloween party.

The website mentioned that Disney Resort hotel guests could begin making reservations for The Beak and Barrel on June 12, 2025, with reservations for the general public opening on June 16. However, that page was updated just hours later, and all reservation details were removed. The page now reads: The Beak and Barrel is scheduled to open in late 2025. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. Check back later for details about making reservations.”

It remains unclear whether The Beak and Barrel will still be exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party during its initial opening phase. The sudden change suggests that the information may have been released too early or that Walt Disney World Resort decided to rethink its approach to the lounge’s reservation system.

Walt Disney World Resort has stated that The Beak and Barrel will open in late 2025”. The family-friendly lounge in Adventureland will feature themed drinks and quick bites, along with interactive entertainment from Captain Merry Goldwyn and her “chatty parrot quartermaster,” Rummy.
