A new sense of aloha is coming! We previously shared the exciting news that refurbishments are underway at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages took to Facebook to share new photos of the room refurbishments. Keep in mind, the resort is currently “closed” for standard resort guests until “Summer 2021”. However, Disney Vacation Club rooms are still available for current stays.
As shared via Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages Facebook: “Work continues on the new rooms. Yes there will be some Moana representations in the room but I would not call it a Moana themeing anymore than I’d call the DVC rooms Lilo and Stitch themed just because there is a Lilo and Stitch in the fold down bed. My opinion from what I heard is that the description of everything becoming Moana is blown out of proportion.”

Tikiman’s Unofficial Polynesian Resort Pages goes on to share: “Many are shocked by the rooms being gutted but this is typical for new room designs. I have photos going back to the 1996 renovations that gutted the rooms. These photos are from the last room renovation.”
We’re excited to see what the newly renovated rooms will look like when they are finished! We’ll keep you posted as Disney releases information regarding the resort reopening and refurbishment details.
