Tron and Guardians of the Galaxy Coasters Coming Soon

No Mention of TRON or Guardians of the Galaxy On Disney’s List of 2021 New Attractions

We’ve made it to 2021! The excitement that comes with this 50th Walt Disney World Anniversary year has been surmounting throughout 2020. Unexpected closures, delays, and phased reopenings have left us all wondering what will the 50th (October 1, 2021) look like after all? Disney initially had a long list of new attractions coming in 2021… but now a recent list produces no mention of Tron Lightcycle Power Run OR Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

D23 shared an article on December 30th titled “Every Upcoming Disney Movie, TV Show, Disney Parks Attraction, and More We Can’t Wait to See in 2021“. Among the list, it’s noticeable that both highly anticipated attractions which were originally scheduled to open in 2021 aren’t even mentioned.

D23 does mention Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Harmonious. Under the portion of the article, “Milestone Anniversaries and Enchanting New Attractions at Disney Theme Parks” D23 states: “At Walt Disney World, we’re excited to step into the future as EPCOT’s historic transformation continues, including the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the France pavilion! Additionally, our nights are about to be brighter with the addition of the new nighttime extravaganza, Harmonious, one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created.”

What are your thoughts? Does this mean Disney is anticipating the TRON and Guardians of the Galaxy attractions won’t open in 2021, in time for the 50th, like we all hoped for? We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

About Mike and Jamie Sylvester

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 15 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
