Today, November 12, is a big day for the Walt Disney Company as they celebrate the two-year anniversary of their streaming platform Disney+. To commemorate the event, there are a number of events happening at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort — including a blue carpet at both Disneyland Park and Hollywood Studios, special photo opportunities, and even some fun and free merchandise!
In addition to all of the exciting things happening at the Parks for Disney+ Day, there are also a ton of new releases, trailers, and previews happening on social media. Disney shared a number of announcements, from release dates for a number of Marvel shows, to a message from Disenchanted stars Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, and announcing that Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff would be staring in the new Cheaper By The Dozen.
The company also shared that a brand-new series would be coming to Disney+ in 2023 and it will be based on the popular 2009 film The Princess and the Frog. The series will be called Tiana and will follow the new Princess of Maldonia. In addition to announcing the show, Disney also shared some artwork of the new series on its Twitter account.
#Tiana FIRST LOOK Concept Art: The new long-form musical series, directed and written by Stella Meghie (@stellamink), comes to #DisneyPlus in 2023. The series follows newly crowned Princess of Maldonia on a new adventure, but her New Orleans past isn’t far behind #DisneyPlusDay

According to IMDB, Princess and the Frog star Anika Noni Rose will be returning to the series and will once again voice Princess Tiana. There is no word yet as to whether or not Bruno Campos will return to voice Prince Naveen or if someone new will be brought on for that role. While Navaeen is not shown in the concept art, it is probably safe to assume that he will be in the series, as he is the crown Prince of Maldonia and the reason that Tiana is an actual Princess.
Are you excited to hear that a Princess and the Frog series is coming to Disney+? What other characters would you like to see in the series?
