New ‘Jurassic’ Theme Park Experience Will Allow Fans To Be Eaten by Dinosaurs

Universal Products & Experiences and Saber Interactive have released a new behind-the-scenes video for “Jurassic Park: Survival”, the upcoming first-person action-adventure game set 24 hours after the events of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film.

While the project has promised a faithful re-creation of Isla Nublar since its announcement in December 2023, the latest footage confirms something fans already suspected but can now officially look forward to: you can be eaten by dinosaurs.

Watch the video below:

The Game’s Lead Will Be Killed Over and Over

The video features Payal Mistry, the British actor portraying Dr. Maya Joshi, the game’s lead character. Dr. Joshi, an InGen scientist who failed to evacuate the island, will be our eyes and ears into the world of Isla Nublar, but that doesn’t mean she’s invincible.

In fact, there’s one scene in the new BTS video that reminds us that she’s anything but, as she’s caught in the jaws of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. This makes it clear that “Survival” won’t just immerse players in the island’s atmosphere — it will also confront them with the same risks faced by the original film’s characters. With that said, it sounds incredibly fun.

“I’m going to purposely lose so that I can get eaten by T-Rex!” Jurassic World Project Executive Lisa St. Amand jokes, highlighting the fact that, while players will undoubtedly do everything they can to avoid these terrifying encounters, some will likely surrender to fate just to experience the thrill of ending up on the wrong side of the food chain.

“Jurassic Park: Survival” Has Re-Created Isla Nublar in Full

“Jurassic Park: Survival” is designed to place players inside a “fully realized Isla Nublar,” per the official website. This includes iconic locations such as the Visitor Center, the dinosaur enclosures, and never-before-seen environments only hinted at in the 1993 movie.

The inclusion of dramatic dinosaur encounters — even when they end badly for the player — emphasizes the game’s commitment to survival terror as much as it does to spectacle.
Executive Producer at Universal Products & Experiences John Melchior reveals in the new video that the park is filled with unfinished facilities, hidden areas, and creatures that fans have never been able to fully experience on-screen.

It Will Be the Most Immersive Jurassic Experience Yet

The new footage builds on this by showing that danger is never far away, no matter where players explore. Whether it’s a Velociraptor stalking in the tall grass or the T-Rex looming unexpectedly, defeat will often mean becoming dinner.

For Mistry, embodying Dr. Joshi has been about more than just survival. “She’s incredibly passionate and adventurous. I think she takes risks, she steps outside of her comfort zone,” Mistry says in the featurette. But as the new clip demonstrates, those risks sometimes have gruesome consequences.

With its mix of exploration, suspense, and lethal dinosaur encounters, “Jurassic Park: Survival” appears intent on giving players the most visceral re-creation of Isla Nublar yet — even if that means being devoured in the process.

There’s no release date for the game.
