New James Bond Actor Revealed Ahead of Amazon MGM Reboot

James Bond has been part of popular culture for more than six decades, with the character’s adventures stretching from Ian Fleming’s novels to blockbuster movies, video games, comic books, and audio dramas.

Even with Daniel Craig’s tenure now over, the franchise continues to find new ways to explore the world of 007, including stories set long before Bond became the secret agent audiences know.

One such story is Young Bond: SilverFin, Charlie Higson’s 2005 novel about a teenage James Bond whose first year at Eton leads him into a dangerous mystery.

The book is now being adapted by Big Finish Productions as a full-cast audio drama, with Isaac Rouse voicing the young spy and Charlotte McBurney playing Wilder Lawless.

Big Finish has released a new behind-the-scenes video showing Rouse visiting the real Eton College for a photo shoot. In the video, titled “James Bond goes to Eton,” producer and script editor Robert Valentine discusses the decision to film at the school, which provides the setting for part of Bond’s early story.

The company has also confirmed additional cast members for the adaptation. Miriam Margolyes will play Cleek MacSawney, Harry Marcus will voice Red Kelly, Christopher Nathan takes the role of George Hellebore, William Hope plays Lord Hellebore, and Paterson Joseph voices Dr. Perseus Friend.

The lineup also features Tim McInnerny as Uncle Max, Miranda Raison as Aunt Charmian, Timothy Bentinck as Sergeant White, Lucy Fleming as Madame Ouspenskaya, Penelope Rawlins as Alfie Kelly, and author Higson as Bond’s mentor, Michael Merriot.

The audio adaptation will comprise 16 half-hour episodes, released in two box sets on October 29. Across approximately eight hours, listeners will follow Bond from the playing fields of Eton to the dangerous mystery surrounding Loch Silverfin.

The announcement comes as the wider franchise prepares for another major transition. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a new James Bond film directed by Denis Villeneuve (the Dune films), with Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) writing the screenplay, but the studio has not yet named its next cinematic 007.

While speculation continues around potential successors to Craig, Rouse’s portrayal offers audiences a different take on the character: a young Bond at the very beginning of his adventures.
