Disney just released the official character posters for the next installment of the Indiana Jones adventure! Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters on June 30th and marks the fifth film in the series.
Directed by James Mangold, the story follows Indiana Jones on another wild quest to find a mythical dial that has the power to turn back time before it falls into Nazi hands.
First up, take a look at Indy himself, Harrison Ford, in all his adventurer glory. Fans are glad to see the iconic hat makes an appearance in his official poster. Harrison certainly is older, but that Indiana Jones charm is still alive in his eyes.
Then we get our first real look at the supporting characters of Indy’s latest journey. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, English actress known for her outstanding show Fleabag (2016), plays Helena Shaw. Shaw is the “mildly related” goddaughter of Indiana Jones. After seeking Jones out in New York, she is entangled in the journey for the dial.
Next we have Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the villainous Jürgen Voller, who was a Nazi in World War II. He desperately wants to find the time dial before Indiana Jones does, so he can “correct” some things in history. Mads Mikkelsen is a Danish actor known best for his TV show Hannibal (2013).
Antonio Banderas, known for The Mask of Zorro (1998) and Puss in Boots (2011), joins the Indiana Jones family. He plays Indy’s old friend and boat captain, Renaldo. Although Banderas claims this character is not pivotal to the plot, he gets Indy and the crew where they need to go. We’ll have to see the full movie to see how big a part he actually plays!
Alongside Banderas, we have newcomer Ethann Isidore AKA Teddy Kumar. Teddy is described as Helena Shaw’s teenage sidekick who also gets caught up in the race for the Dial of Destiny.
The last two featured are Shaunette Renée Wilson’s Mason and Toby Jones’ Basil Shaw. Mason is an undercover government agent spying on the entire mission. Basil Shaw is Helena Shaw’s father and a good friend of Indy, who makes appearances in reference to time travel.
