With only 35,000 Masai giraffes left in the wild, this is especially great news! Lily, one of the Masai giraffes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, recently had a baby boy! This sweet guy is the cutest, and we simply can’t wait to see him exploring the savanna. Check out the exciting details below.
As shared by Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Facebook: “Oh boy, we’ve got a tall order of baby news to share. It’s a boy – a Masai giraffe calf at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Born on June 10, the healthy calf is quite large, weighing in at 183 pounds and is nearly six-feet tall! He is playful, curious and pretty calm, spending lots of time nuzzling with mom, Lily, in a backstage barn.”
Disney Parks also took to social media to share the news:
Visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom soon? Park guests will be able to see Lily and her adorable calf on Kilimanjaro Safaris in the coming weeks when the pair joins the rest of the herd on the savanna.
