As everyone who has taken a Disney vacation knows, there is a chance that not every attraction will be open during their trip. Disney rides and attractions receive so much wear and tear that closing them down for refurbishment occasionally is a must. While Disney tries to keep the big refurbishments for times when the theme parks are less busy (like the winter months), there are times when, even though it’s busy, refurbs are needed. That is what is happening to one of the more popular children’s rides at Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort.
In the Hollywood Land area of DCA, Guests can find the popular attraction, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!. The attraction takes Guests right into the city of Monstropolis and is fun for people of all ages. We recently reported that the ride would close indefinitely on August 15 for refurbishment. However, we now have an update. The ride will not be closed for as long as we thought and will reopen on September 2!
Disneyland Resort updated its website with the following message:
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be closed for refurbishment from August 15 to September 2, 2022.
Here is more information about the fun attraction from the Disneyland Resort website:
Escape from Monstropolis!
Venture inside the Monstropolis Transit Terminal and hail a taxi cab for a tour of the town. As your journey begins, an emergency “special report” is unexpectedly broadcast inside your cab—a human child is loose in Monstropolis and must be caught!
Help friendly monsters Mike and Sulley as they race to return little girl Boo safely to her home.
Can she find the way back before it’s too late?
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue will be opening just in time for Halloween time at Disneyland Resort. The spookiest time of the year will bring the bats to the belfry at Carthay Circle, new eats and sweets in both DCA and Disneyland Park, and Halloween Screams fireworks will shoot off above Disneyland Park every night! Oogie Boogie Bash will also return on select nights at Disney California Adventure Park.
When visiting Disneyland and DCA, you can always check attraction and ride statuses by using your Disneyland Resort Mobile app.
