Sony & Marvel’s Next ‘Spider-Man’ Spin-Off to Be Rated-R
When it comes to superheroes, there’s no denying that Spider-Man is easily one of the most popular. After all, nobody can deny the charm of an underdog!
Spider-Man is such a beloved character that multiple movies have been made detailing the origins of Peter Parker as the web-slinger by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios alike.
From Tobey Maguire’s original Spider-Man trilogy to Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man series to Tom Holland’s involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man has been delighting audiences for years.

Now, as fans wait for Tom Holland to reprise his role as Peter Parker, another Spider-Man spinoff has been announced. But this one is reportedly more adult than any of the Spider-Man and Spidey-related films previously released.
A spinoff revolving around Kraven, one of Spidey’s most brutal villains, is reportedly in the makings.

During the recent CinemaCon, Sony Pictures took the stage to discuss the upcoming animated film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) and the upcoming live-action film Kraven the Hunter.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson will portray the fierce supervillain and has confirmed during the panel that this will be an R-rated film, making it the first of its kind as far as Spider-Man spinoffs go.

How gritty will this spinoff be? At this time, we can’t precisely say. However, given the evidence of an R-rating and the context of Kraven’s place as one of the most savage villains in Spider-Man history, we can imagine this film will not disappoint.
More importantly, will audiences get to see Spider-Man face Kraven on the big screen? Only time will answer these questions.
