As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) prepares to swing into theaters, fans begin wondering just how many Spideys they’ll be able to see.

The first Sony Pictures Animation installment in the Spider-Verse series, Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), introduced audiences to characters other than Peter Parker, a first for Spider-man movie history.

Peter Parker, voiced by Jake Johnson, was only the beginning for the Sony Pictures Animation movie. As Peter’s Spider-man led Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) toward becoming his own Spider-man, they met more spider-people along the way.

The film was a hit, especially among fans of the famous wall crawler. Years later, when Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) came out, it had a similar premise, reuniting each actor who had portrayed Peter Parker in a live-action movie: Andrew Garfield, Tobey Maguire, and Tom Holland.

Not only have their Spidey suits appeared in one of the international trailers, but certain hints have given fans reason to believe they’ll make brief cameos. According to a report by The Direct, Hailee Steinfeld, who plays Gwen Stacy, said this when asked about the rumors:

“There’s so many [Spider-People]. There [are] some treats. This wouldn’t be what it is if there weren’t some treats.”

For now, it seems we’ll have to wait and see the film in theaters to find out if the three Peters will make an appearance.
