On April 22, Disneyland Resort will see the return of the incredibly popular Main Street Electrical Parade. The parade first premiered at The Happiest Place on Earth in 1972 and remained there for more than 20 years. While Disney has had several different parades since the Main Street Electrical Parade ended in 1996, the classic parade seems to always make a comeback.
Many Guests are always excited to see the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade, and this time is no exception. What makes this time, so special is that this is the first regular nighttime parade to return to Disneyland since the pandemic shutdown. There was a parade at Christmas, but the return of MSEP signals one more step towards pre-pandemic normality.
In celebration of the Main Street Electrical Parade lighting up the Park, Disneyland is not only releasing a ton of great merchandise, but they are bringing back a dining package! There will also be new designs to honor the new parade floats, including scenes from Disney’s newest movie, Encanto. Let’s take a look at what is coming to Disneyland in just two weeks!
Dining Package
Before the pandemic shutdown, dining packages were incredibly popular for Guests who wanted to enjoy not only a great meal, but also have preferred seating for parades and fireworks. Disney will be releasing not one, but two Main Street Electrical Parade t-shirts! One is an all-over print that features glow ink, music notes, and classic Disney characters that can be found on numerous floats. The second shirt is a split-seam shirt. That means that one side of the shirt is the same print as the all-over shirt. The other half of the shirt is a gorgeous shade of blue that says “Main Street Electrical Parade” in the corner.
The Main Street Electrical Parade Minnie ears are also the perfect theme park accessory. The ears feature a bright yellow bow, along with Mickey Mouse and Elliot from the film Pete’s Dragon.
Leggings
What better to go with your new t-shirt than a pair of comfortable leggings? The black leggings show reimagined images of the Main Street Electrical Parade Floats. The designs go down the side of the legs, and they are the perfect thing to wear for a day in the Parks or a day at home.
