Exciting news for all those sweet tooth Disney foodies out there! As Walt Disney World Resort prepares for its 50th Anniversary, we’re seeing more and more experiences unfold in preparation for the 18-month long celebration kicking off on October 1, 2021. As you plan to stroll Main Street U.S.A. and take in 50 years of magic-making, you’ll of course want one of the Disney Park’s ever-so-popular treats to go right along with the experience. Well, now it’s looking like the 50th Anniversary just got even sweeter with a Magic Kingdom favorite on the calendar to reopen next week!
On March 29, Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Confectionery closed for a lengthy refurbishment. While we have missed the popular sweets stop on Main Street, U.S.A., there have been some treats from Main Street Confectionery available at the Emporium and Main Street Cinema during the refurbishment closure. It looks like the Confectionery refurbishment wait has come to an end, however, as Main Street Confectionery now has operating hours listed for next week! According to the Walt Disney World website and as shown in the screenshot below, Main Street Confectionery now has operating hours listed beginning Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.
While details about Main Street Confectionery’s refurbishment have been few and far between, Disney has said, “This iconic location will soon receive a fresh new look, expanded layout with more room to shop, and interactive opportunities to customize your confections like never before.” Yes, you read that right… can you imagine being able to customize your confections? Yes, please!
On top of this news, keep in mind, just recently Walt Disney World announced they are now introducing Mobile Ordering for sweets at select locations via the My Disney Experience App. Current Mobile Order locations for Walt Disney World treats includes:
- Candy Cauldron, located at Disney Springs
- Karamell-Küche featuring Werther’s Original Caramel, located at EPCOT
- Zuri’s Sweets Shop, located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

Mobile Ordering has already been available for some time now for the popular Dole Whip, located at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland. Disney has announced Main Street Confectionery at Magic Kingdom Park will join this list of Mobile Ordering locations upon reopening.
