After the success of the original James Cameron Avatar (2009) film, it comes as no surprise that the sequel was just as successful, if not more.

The original Avatar film, while criticized for not being very memorable, it can’t be denied that the special effects are still stunning to this day.
So stunning, in fact, that the special effects have inspired Walt Disney Imagineering to create a piece of Avatar that Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort can enjoy.

In Animal Kingdom, Guests can visit Pandora: The World of Avatar. This area is categorized by an atmosphere that looks just like the movies, complete with the floating mountains!
This area includes restaurants like Pongu Pongu and Satul’i Canteen and attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage and the Na’vi River Journey.
This area of Animal Kingdom is incredibly popular, and coupled with the success of the latest installment, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), it comes as no surprise to hear that Disneyland Resort will receive its own Pandora world.

At this time, nobody knows how different or similar Disneyland Park’s version of Pandora world will be to Walt Disney World Resort’s version. However, Guests have already begun speculating where this new area will be.
After all, it’s no secret that Disneyland Park has already started to get a little crowded.

Most of the speculation has set its sights on the Star Wars Launch Bay. Now that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has given fans of the sci-fi series an immersive land to explore and interact with, the dated Launch Bay attraction may be in imminent danger of being replaced. A new Avatar-themed area would give Disneyland Park the perfect opportunity to revamp the site.
