‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Teases Fans, Leaving Them Begging for More
Jurassic World Rebirth is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated films of 2025. First announced in January, the seventh installment in the iconic Jurassic franchise has generated significant excitement among fans.
Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), written by David Koepp (screenwriter for Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park), and produced by franchise veterans Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, with Steven Spielberg serving as executive producer, this film marks the dawn of a bold new era for the beloved series.
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), the latest chapter takes audiences back into a world where dinosaurs roam the Earth. However, as revealed in the synopsis, “the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.” Those that remain now exist only in “isolated equatorial environments with climates.” This evolution in the storyline offers fresh stakes and new landscapes for audiences to explore.
The plot of Jurassic World Rebirth follows covert operations expert Zora Bennett, portrayed by Marvel star Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame). Bennett is tasked with leading a high-stakes mission to retrieve DNA samples from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs. However, the team’s plans go awry when they encounter a civilian family whose boat has been capsized by underwater dinosaurs.
Stranded together on a mysterious dinosaur-inhabited island, the group makes a shocking discovery—one that’s been hidden from the world for decades.
Johansson is joined by an ensemble cast, including Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), and Mahershala Ali (Green Book). Their performances are sure to elevate the already intense premise of the film.

Filming for Rebirth recently wrapped, with production spanning several exotic locations. The movie was shot in Thailand’s breath-taking national parks, underwater tanks at Malta Film Studios, Sky Studios Elstree in the UK, and with reshoots on location in New York City. Director Gareth Edwards, speaking to Empire Magazine, confirmed that the project has now entered post-production. With the film scheduled for release on July 2, 2025, fans are eagerly awaiting the first trailer.
When Will We See the Trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth?
Fans are growing restless as they speculate about the release of the film’s first trailer. For context, trailers for Jurassic World (2015) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) were released six to seven months before the films debuted in theaters. The delay for Jurassic World Dominion (2022) was attributed to the COVID-19 pandemic, and its first trailer premiered just four months prior to release. Given that Jurassic World Rebirth is scheduled for July 2025, fans may need to wait until January to catch their first glimpse.
In the meantime, social media platforms like X/Twitter are flooded with memes and GIFs expressing fans’ impatience.
