‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ May Have Wiped Out Rexy and Blue—Here’s Why

The Jurassic World franchise has entered a bold new chapter, but it may have done so at the cost of two of its most beloved stars. Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) promises to deliver fresh thrills, a new ensemble cast, and colossal dinosaurs unlike anything seen before. However, its official synopsis hints that not all prehistoric icons made it out alive.

Taking place five years after Jurassic World Dominion, the latest film finds Earth’s ecosystem turning against its once-dominant newcomers. While Dominion ended with dinosaurs freely coexisting in various parts of the world, Rebirth suggests that nature has corrected itself, forcing the creatures into isolated equatorial environments—the last remaining places capable of sustaining them.

This shift raises a troubling question: what happened to Rexy and Blue?

The fan-favorite T. rex and Velociraptor were left in seemingly safe havens at the end of Dominion—Rexy ruling over Biosyn Valley in the Dolomites and Blue living freely in the Sierra Nevada mountains. But Rebirth’s premise suggests a world where survival has become nearly impossible. If only a handful of dinosaurs remain, it’s hard to imagine that these two wouldn’t have been affected.

So far, no returning characters—human or otherwise—have been confirmed for Jurassic World Rebirth. While Jurassic Park legends like Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm are sitting this one out, the real heartbreak may be the loss of two of the franchise’s most iconic dinosaurs.

Are Rexy and Blue really gone for good? Or is Jurassic World Rebirth hiding something bigger? All will be revealed when the film roars into theaters on July 2, 2025.

In the new film, Scarlett Johansson leads the cast as Zora Bennett, a covert operations specialist heading a mission to retrieve dinosaur DNA from three of the most colossal species left on Earth. But as her team stumbles upon a shipwrecked family and an abandoned InGen facility, they uncover something even more sinister—one that threatens to rewrite everything known about Jurassic history.
