Young Disney Star Forced to Address Johnny Depp Dating Rumors
Two and a half years ago, Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp’s contentious relationship with ex-wife Amber Heard took center stage during a vicious defamation trial. Depp had sued Heard for $50 million after a 2018 OpEd written by Ms. Heard was published in The Washington Post.
In the article, Ms. Heard said that she was the victim of physical, verbal, mental, and sexual abuse. While she did not name Depp, she said that the abuse she suffered occurred during the years she was married to Depp.

Depp claimed that his relationship with Amber Heard and the things she said about him cost him his job and his reputation. He was replaced as Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and as Gellert Grindelwald in Warner Bros. Harry Potter spinoff series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
After a six-week trial, a Virginia jury determined that Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard had defamed each other, but Ms. Heard was more at fault. Depp was initially awarded more than $15 million in damages, while the Aquaman (2018) actress was awarded just $2 million.

Since the end of the trial, both Heard and Depp have been keeping relatively low profiles. Heard has even left the country and is currently living in Spain with her young daughter.
Mr. Depp has been focusing on getting his career back on track and has said that he would like to do more work behind the camera. His latest film, Jeanne du Barry, in which he played King Louis XV, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. He has also been touring with his beloved band, Hollywood Vampires.

However, it seems that no matter how hard he tries, fans will always be interested in his love life, even when the rumors are almost too crazy to be believed.
Last year, the rumor mill went into overdrive when it was reported that the 61-year-old actor from Sweeney Todd (2007) was dating Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who is just 21 years old. Both actors denied the rumors, and those who knew them thought it was ridiculous that the media would link the two, mainly because they had never met.
Despite the fact that the talented actors have never met, the rumors just refuse to die. The only thing they have in common is the fact that they have both worked with iconic director, Tim Burton. Burton and Depp have worked on a number of films together, including Edward Scissorhands (1990), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
Ortega recently worked with Burton on the highly anticipated sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which premieres in theaters nationwide next month. Ortega will play Astrid Deetz, the daughter of Lydia (Winona Ryder).
In a recent interview with Buzzfeed, Ortega was asked about the craziest stories she has ever read about herself. The Johnny Depp dating rumors were the first thing that came to mind. She said that they have never met and certainly have never dated. She also denied denying the rumors, saying the media made it up.
“Probably that I was in a serious relationship with Johnny Depp and I wanted everybody to leave us alone. It’s so insane to me. Like, I never spoke on that. I never said anything like that. Articles really do just make up thier own quotes. But I thought that that was pretty hilarious.
I was on set with Richard E. Grant and he came up to me and just said, “So you and Johnny?” And I laughed because I don’t know that person.”
In addition to preparing for the premiere of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Ortega is also looking forward to returning as Wednesday Adams in her hit Netflix show Wednesday. It is a wildly popular new take on the legendary Addams Family.
As for Johnny Depp, he is reportedly dating Russian model Yulia Vlasova.

Actually, the rumor WAS dead, however, Ms. Ortega decided to bring it back to life. BTW, please get the verdict straight when reporting about the VA trial. The jury UNANIMOUSLY agreed that all 3 of Heards statements were false and made with actual malice. For those of you who cannot comprehend what that means, it means her accusations were PROVEN to be FALSE and defamatory.
