In a not-so-surprising move, Disney has announced the temporary suspension of the sale of its highly coveted Magic Key passes. The Magic Key pass is an Annual Pass that offers exclusive benefits and access to both Parks at Disneyland Resort. Now, the sale of such passes will not continue for the foreseeable future. This decision has left many Disney enthusiasts puzzled and eager for answers.

Magic Key Mayhem Comes to an End

Disney’s Magic Key program, the successor to the popular Annual Passholder program, was introduced just a few years ago to much excitement and anticipation. With four different tiers – Imagine Key, Believe Key, Enchant Key, and Dream Key – the pass offered varying levels of benefits and park access, catering to a wide range of Disney enthusiast’s needs and financial flexibility.

For fans who visit the Parks on a consistent basis, the Magic Key pass makes that endeavor much more affordable. After paying one flat fee, Magic Key holders receive special discounts on dining and merchandise, as well as (mostly) unlimited access to the Parks. This can save thousands of dollars for fans who plan on visiting the Parks as much as possible.

Magic Key Becomes the Year’s Hot Ticket!

However, purchasing this pass has not been the easiest endeavor. After halting the sale due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were eager once again to get their hands on a Magic Key pass. Unfortunately, Disney delayed the sale of these passes for longer than fans had initially thought and hoped.

Today, September 8, Disney has paused the sale of the Inspire Key, the last key that had been remaining on sale. The pause of this key means that no more Magic Key passes are for sale.

As of now, the only way to have a Magic Key pass for the foreseeable future is by being a current Magic Key holder who chooses to renew their membership. For now, only time will tell if Disney will begin the sale of these passes once again.
